If you want to experience awesome entertainment, attend a presentation by the Duquesne University Tamburitzans. The performers, all students at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, sing, dance, and play a variety of instruments. A tamburitza is a stringed instrument of southern European origins and is very ethnic to slavic countries. You must hear the group and see them to appreciate their incredible skills. Each performer is dressed in colorful ethnic folk dresses that are stunning in their variety.
I have known about the Tamburitzans for many years. Since I am Croatian, I am very familiar with the tambura. I enjoyed their performance most recently last year when they performed in Zumbrota, Minnesota. I was thrilled to see them again and recommended to the Mitchell County Concert Association to book them in the future. I hope that happens.
Their next appearance in our area is Tuesday, August 9th, 2016 at 7 pm at Mounds View High School. I hope many people attend. If you do so, please post a blog about your experience. Look them up on line to get even more information and pictures.
